Winding down the summer

So the first week of homeschooling went well. Since we are doing an online academy, I find the curriculum rigorous in a good way. She will definitely be challenged this year and I am excited to be so involved in the process. My baby girl also had a great week of regular school. Every day she came home with smiles and interesting work to show me. I think this semester I made excellent choices for my daughters, each getting what they need.
The weather is still warm, but I think it's time to get the knitting needles out again. I am ready to be snuggled up on the couch with my project. Its a shawl, I think. I don't take on very difficult projects, just things to keep my hands busy.
I haven't put the paintbrushes away, but I haven't felt very inspired to paint much lately. I like snapping photos though. It ebbs, it flows, creativity comes and goes. I think I spend most of my time thankful that whatever comes when it comes works itself out and there isn't this external driving force requiring creative output. It is a dry spell. After the children's book I haven't had much to say, because a major project is now complete. I think that is normal. Before rushing on to the next thing, I'm going to take my time and see what comes. No rush.
What is cool is that I finally met some moms in the area, a much needed outlet for both myself and the kids have been recent play dates. We are staying busy and that is a good thing. I think that's all the update I have today.
