🐈 Caturdays and Confidence

This particular cat isn't the nicest, but quite photogenic. Cute capture, I think. We went visiting cats. It's a thing. Don't judge me.

I, like the rest of the warming planet, have spent this winter with a perpetual cold. Is it the flu or worse? Doubt it, but it's still annoying. I am praying for all those ill and suffering.

Today is a day of rest. I'm reading Tara Mohr's "Playing Big" and I love it. Women should read this. She gives solid techniques on how to inspire and empower oneself. I'm also taking her course. So far, really good.

One of the tasks is naming your inner critic and giving it a separate identity from yourself and also visualizing the inner wisdom that your future self would give. I find this helpful. I won't go into too much detail, the book is better at explaining.

I hope I can convince my daughters that it's going to help them if they read it. We have these insecurities that grow within a patriarchy that are hard to shake. I see it in them and I always wonder where it came from. But it could easily be me. The structures in which women operate are worth questioning. It's probably over their little heads now, but I know developing women who lead with confidence is important.
