Remedy for a planet in need of healing.

When we think of what our planet needs from us is something quite important, a sustained peace within humanity. To me, peace means freedom, access to resources, sharing, nonviolence, lovingkindness and sustainability.

Freedom: Mass Incarceration needs to end. Freedom of speech and movement also important.

Access to Resources: Borders need to be more free-flowing, allowing people access to resources that can be shared and global movements managed, but free.

Sharing: Food and water should sustain all of us.

Nonviolence: War and those who support it by selling arms and promoting conflict must be stopped.

Lovingkindness: Loving our neighbors as much as we love ourselves. Loving each other despite differences.

Sustainability: Using our resources wisely so our planet and all its animals and ecosystems can thrive and co-exist with humanity.

Equality“That until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned; That until there are no longer first-class and second-class citizens of any nation; That until the color of a man’s skin is of no more significance than the color of his eyes; That until the basic human rights are equally guaranteed to all without regard to race; That until that day, the dream of lasting peace and world citizenship and the rule of international morality will remain but a fleeting illusion, to be pursued but never attained." - Haile Selassie

Our children will be leading us into a peaceful future, I hope. We must turn down the noise of bickering flowing through our Internet and televisions and adopt quiet respect of those that share different opinions.

We must equalize the gap between the rich and the poor. There must be a way to bring equality. It can be done.

Those are my evening thoughts.
