The Latest

I just read an article in the New Yorker about all the damage the Trump Administration did to Immigration policies. Some changes were hidden and hard to track, but hard working people tried their best to keep up and now have a database for the Biden Administration that will assist in Immigration Reform. I tweeted and FB posted the article if you’re interested. But it’s in the current issue of the New Yorker.

On the home front, I’ve taken off a few more pounds, but the scale ebbs and flows. It goes up, it goes down, it goes up, it goes down. It’s best not to weigh every day I realize and to weigh in the morning. The weather has been too frigid for walking outdoors the last few days, but I still have my Zoom fitness classes. I’ve been focused on just keeping my eating habits in check. There are stats going around that say losing weight is way more about what you eat than what you do for exercise. So the right diet is key.

My mother has been severely under the weather, but she is feeling much better now that she has a proper diagnosis with medicine to help her pain. I am grateful to all the people that assisted in finding solutions for her. It was agonizing watching her in pain, but I am grateful that she is back to her old self again. Aging is a beast in itself. We just have to be patient with our bodies and pray that doctors will have remedies. She is good now. Thank God.

One of my faves lately is Jessica of BehatiLife on YouTube. A friend introduced me to this lovely goddess and I’ve enjoyed her readings and I do love observing her crystal collection. She has some beautiful, massive ones that are future goals of mine. On one of my walks the other day I found a beautiful quartz to add to my small but sweet collection. I look at a shop called Crystal Allies and I hope to make some additional purchases from them in the future.

Others faves include an Aspen scented incense I found on Amazon and Sun-Drenched Linen 3-wick candle from Bath and Body Works. I’ve always been a fan of their Eucalyptus Mint fragrance in all its forms, but it was nice to try something else.  These are some of the goodies getting me through the winter in addition to my space heater that stays on quite a bit. I long for warmer weather. I know we are closer to warm weather now and I shouldn’t fret. Plus, it seems surviving this season of pandemic and cold is the most important goal so I will be patient as I look forward to better days ahead.

Stay safe out there. Optimism and faith are key to our progress. Have faith and good luck.
